Believing Is Knowing In Your Heart That What He Says Is True

Transcript from the Radio Series : Who Do You Choose To Serve?
Philippians 2:5–11 (The Living Bible) 5 Your attitude should be the kind that was shown us by Jesus Christ, 6 who, though he was God, did not demand and cling to his rights as God, 7 but laid aside his mighty power and glory, taking the disguise of a slave and becoming like men. 8 And he humbled himself even further, going so far as actually to die a criminal’s death on a cross. 9 Yet it was because of this that God raised him up to the heights of heaven and gave him a name which is above every other name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Welcome to this week’s program of “Who do you choose to serve?” Thank you for taking the time to listen and together today let us ask the Lord to open our eyes and ears to hear His Word and change our hearts. All to His Glory.
This passage taken from the Book of Philippians as given to us by the Holy Spirit of the Living God, through the apostle Paul, brings into focus a foundational truth that should never leave our minds. If you are seeking Him, or if you are born again of the water and the spirit hearing this today, then why does the Holy Spirit through the apostle Paul be so direct in this passage; so direct and to the point?
Listen now to:
Psalm 29: 1-2  1 A psalm of David. Ascribe to the Lord, O divine beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. 2 Ascribe to the Lord the glory of His name; bow down to the Lord, majestic in holiness.
We hear boldly proclaimed Ascribe to the Lord the Glory of His Name and Jesus Christ is Lord to the Glory of God the Father.
If you love the Lord, and know Him; if you truly believe in Him which means having Faith in Him, and Trusting in Him; understanding that:
Believing is knowing in your heart what He says is true.
Faith is actually believing it is true regardless of the world’s opinion or religious teachings one may hear regardless of the source or the physical or perceived circumstances one encounters, Faith is abosultely knowing nothing is impossible with God.
Trust is then acting on that Faith by our choices actions. How we choose to make decisions, treat others, what we do with the finances and resources He blesses us with. Trust is walking the talk; it how we actually live our lives, what choices we actually make which reveals to the world who we truly are.
If you love Him and truly believe in Him then His light, the light of the world, truly will shine from you. And if you are His then the desire of your heart will be the same as the desire of the heart of the Son. Which was to bring glory to The Father. Everything the Son did or said was because He spoke what the Father gave Him to Speak and did what He saw the Father do.
You may not be a teacher or preacher; you may not be in any formal ministry. But The Father has separated you from this world and called you to His Son or His daughter that you may have eternal life. That His Spirit may live with you and in you. That you may be one with the Lord Jesus Christ and the Father. One in agreement and purpose. So listen carefully to what the Son said to us.
John 12:23–33 (NKJV) 23 But Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified. 24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. 25 He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26 If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. 27 “Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour. 28 Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.” 29 Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to Him.” 30 Jesus answered and said, “This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sake. 31 Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. 32 And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.” 33 This He said, signifying by what death He would die.
All of scripture proclaims that bringing Glory to the Father was the desire of the Heart of the Son. Yes, that he might bring Glory to the Father. Please take the time to sit down with your Bible and read the four Gospels. Read them completely through, in context asking the Holy Spirit to open your eyes and ears and to teach you His Word and His Wisdom. His Word directly to you and I. They have been preserved and written specifically to you and I.
The entire foundation of all that He has given us through His Word begins here with the humility shown by the Son to the Father that Glory may be directed to the Father. It is the basis of His entire Word.
Only when we are willing to open our eyes, ears and minds to the Lord Jesus Christ, and allow the Holy Spirit of the Living God to be our teacher, and our tutor are we able to get a glimpse of the Heavenly Wisdom He has for us. It is only in this way that we can begin to understand the wonderful, merciful and loving plan the Father has for each one of us as His son or daughter.
If you believe in Him, and I mean truly believe in Him, AND if you have faith in Him, in His Word, then trust Him to do exactly what He promises to do. His promise is directly from His own lips and was spoken to you and I. Of this there is no doubt. The doubt comes when we do not have the trust to actually believe what He has promised. What is His Promise? Let’s read it.
John 17:1–12 (NASB95) 1 Jesus spoke these things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You, 2 even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life. 3 “This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. 4 “I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do. 5 “Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. 6 “I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. 7 “Now they have come to know that everything You have given Me is from You; 8 for the words which You gave Me I have given to them; and they received them and truly understood that I came forth from You, and they believed that You sent Me. 9 “I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours; 10 and all things that are Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I have been glorified in them. 11 “I am no longer in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are. 12 “While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them perished but the son of perdition, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled.
The gift of the Holy Spirit and oneness with The Father and The Son was given to His Disciples who walked the earth with Him the last 3 years of His ministry. It was given to those who were not educated by the world system of religions. It was given to those who had a heart willing to listen, and believe, have faith and trust. And it was given by His own words not only to those 11, but to those to come after them. Yes you and I, and it was a promise from the Creator of the Universe. So do you believe, do you have the faith to know His promises are true and do you have trust in Him to actually follow through? Do you truly want more than just the milk of the salvation message? Do you want to understand and truly feast on the meat of His Word? Do you want to know the desire of the Lord Jesus’s Heart? Then simply hear His own Words.
John 15:5–11 (NASB95) 5 “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. 6 “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. 7 “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 “My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. 9 “Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. 10 “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. 11 “These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.
We can only serve one master:
Who do you choose to serve?
All to His Glory!
