Do You Believe, Have Faith and Trust in God?Transcript from the Radio Series : Who Do You Choose To Serve?
It has been a wonderful and blessed year. Thank you Heavenly Father, Lord King Jesus and Holy Spirit of the Living God. This past year we have asked the question Who Do You Choose To Serve? Most of those radio programs along with the written transcripts have been posted to our website www.tohisgloryministy.com and we will continue over the next month to make all available.
We are going to continue the Who Do You Choose series in 2017 with the question “Who Do You Choose to Believe?”
Do you believe He, The Lord Jesus Christ is Lord of Lords and King of Kings? Revelation 5:
Do you have faith that He, The Lord Jesus Christ is the Word of God? John 1:
Do you trust that He The Lord Jesus Christ has fulfilled all that was written about Him? Luke 22:
If we truly want to know what it means to live these three words; “Believe”, “Faith” and “Trust”. Then let us ask the Holy Spirit for Heavenly Wisdom and Heavenly Understanding confirming these truths in His Word.
“To Believe” is to know that what He has told us in His Word is true.
“Faith” is to believe the promises of His Word regardless of what we may see or think we know, not relying upon our own human or religious reasonings, arguments or opinions.
“Trust” is to act upon and live our lives in such a way that reflects obedience and agreement with His Word knowing His Word and His Promises will be accomplished regardless of what we may see, hear or extrapolate to be true.
His promise is that if we Believe, have Faith and Trust in God we have eternal life. That is His promise. That is His Word. But let us look very carefully at what it truly means in our life to live by these three words.
One of the most commonly quoted passages we see in society is John 3:16. You will see it on tee-shirts, billboards and signs. It is most commonly quoted as: “For God so loved the World that He sent His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but has eternal life.”
There is that word “Believe”; but before we go any further let us take a moment to read this passage in context starting in verse 10 where the Lord Jesus Christ is speaking to Nicodemous:
John 3:10–21 (NASB95) 10 Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel and do not understand these things? 11 “Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know and testify of what we have seen, and you do not accept our testimony. 12 “If I told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 “No one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man. 14 “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; 15 so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. 16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17 “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. 18 “He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 “This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. 20 “For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 “But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.”
One can easily be misled, accept, embrace, teach others and come to many different conclusions when looking only at single verse or a portion of a verse and then subsequently arrives at or is taught a human or religious conclusion. But, please know His Word is to always be read in context with an open and humble heart. The Father draws those with a willing heart to the Son, and the Son has given to whosoever will believe in Him a new birth, with the Holy Spirit being with them and in them. Born again such that the Holy Spirit who will teach and give heavenly wisdom and heavenly understanding to those who with a whole heart believe, have faith and trust in Him. John 6: &14: / 1 Corinthians 1: – 4:
Please take the time to read the entire chapter or book, asking the Holy Spirit of the Living God to give you “Heavenly Wisdom and Heavenly Understanding” (1 Corinthians 1:,2: & 3:). Always fill the well within you with the Pure Word of God, His Pure Truth; fill the well to overflowing. “Do not lean on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:) or fractionate verses or sections of His Word that by human or carnal wisdom lead to earthly or religious understandings, doctrines and practices. It is not for us to interpret the Word of God. (2 Peter 2: 1 ) There is only one truth to any given matter and The Holy Spirit will reveal that truth and confirm that truth in The Word; time and time again in your heart, but you must be willing to put aside all (religious teachings and carnal interpretations) and allow “His winnowing fork to separate the wheat from the chaff with unquenchable fire”; this is the true baptism of the Holy Spirit and Fire. (Matthew 3:) Please remember it is only the seed that we as humans can plant and water, Heavenly Wisdom, Heavenly Understanding and Growth come directly from God, by and through the Holy Spirit with us and in us (1 Corinthians 3:, John 14:) for those who will open their hearts and minds to Him and come with humility, fear, obedience and reverence. Leave the commentaries and Christian books on the shelf. Although the Lord may use these in your life, please trust and rely upon the Holy Spirit to teach you and lead you into His Truth. Know and hold in your heart His Word, and trust that He will never forsake. Test every spirit and let no one deceive you. John 17:1–12 (The Living Bible) 1 When Jesus had finished saying all these things he looked up to heaven and said, “Father, the time has come. Reveal the glory of your Son so that he can give the glory back to you. 2 For you have given him authority over every man and woman in all the earth. He gives eternal life to each one you have given him. 3 And this is the way to have eternal life—by knowing you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth! 4 I brought glory to you here on earth by doing everything you told me to. 5 And now, Father, reveal my glory as I stand in your presence, the glory we shared before the world began. 6 “I have told these men all about you. They were in the world, but then you gave them to me. Actually, they were always yours, and you gave them to me; and they have obeyed you. 7 Now they know that everything I have is a gift from you, 8 for I have passed on to them the commands you gave me; and they accepted them and know of a certainty that I came down to earth from you, and they believe you sent me. 9 “My plea is not for the world but for those you have given me because they belong to you. 10 And all of them, since they are mine, belong to you; and you have given them back to me with everything else of yours, and so they are my glory! 11 Now I am leaving the world, and leaving them behind, and coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your own care—all those you have given me—so that they will be united just as we are, with none missing. 12 During my time here I have kept safe within your family all of these you gave me. I guarded them so that not one perished, except the son of hell, as the Scriptures foretold.
He has sent the Helper to be with us and in us.
Do you believe, have faith and trust in Him. If you do, then it will be evident by the fruit you bear and the choices you (and I) make.
