Father, Am I Yours?Transcript from the Radio Series : Who Do You Choose To Serve?
Father, Am I Yours?
All Praise Glory and Honor be unto our Lord and King. Thank you for bringing us together to seek Your Face and ask this question. Amen
This is a question I hear quite often from those who are seeking Him.
“I think I am a Christian, I think I have given my life to The Lord Jesus Christ, but nothing has changed in my life.”
Is this you”? Are you asking yourself this question?
Or are you one seeking to know the One True God and have eternal life?
Thank you for your honesty. Thank you for taking the time to truly look at your own heart. Thank you Lord!
Please let us read from His Word, The Bible the following passage very carefully.
John 3:16–21 (NASB95) 16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17 “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. 18 “He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 “This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. 20 “For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 “But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.”
This is such a tremendous promise and the stark reality that we must all face. The free gift of salvation is given to all who are willing to believe in Him. The redemption of the entire sinful world is promised and fulfilled in this passage.
Please make no mistake about it; absolutely firm reality of justice, righteousness and Holiness of God is clearly conveyed as well. This promise of eternal life is very specific and only for “whoever believes”. If this is you, and you have asked the Lord to be your Savior and you truly love Him, and please understand one cannot Love Him unless one is willing to obey Him. If you trust Him and believe in Him, then there has been a change in your life. PRAISE GOD! You are a child of God. You are a son or daughter of the Creator of the Universe. HE LOVES YOU; YES YOU. It is His promise.
But, before you are convinced that you know Him as your Lord and Savior, rather than just knowing about Him, please understand what it means to believe in the Son of God. The promises of John 3: we just read are both for those who believe and for those who chose not to.
John 3:35–36 (NASB95) 35 “The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand. 36 “He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
Do you believe in Him? Do you believe His Word? If the answer is yes, then do you obey Him? If not; why?
You cannot love Him if you do not obey Him.
1 John 5:1–12 (The Living Bible) 1 If you believe that Jesus is the Christ—that he is God’s Son and your Savior—then you are a child of God. And all who love the Father love his children too. 2 So you can find out how much you love God’s children—your brothers and sisters in the Lord—by how much you love and obey God. 3 Loving God means doing what he tells us to do, and really, that isn’t hard at all; 4 for every child of God can obey him, defeating sin and evil pleasure by trusting Christ to help him. 5 But who could possibly fight and win this battle except by believing that Jesus is truly the Son of God? 6 And we know he is, because God said so with a voice from heaven when Jesus was baptized, and again as he was facing death—yes, not only at his baptism but also as he faced death. And the Holy Spirit, forever truthful, says it too. So we have these three witnesses: the voice of the Holy Spirit in our hearts, the voice from heaven at Christ’s baptism, and the voice before he died. And they all say the same thing: that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. 9 We believe men who witness in our courts, and so surely we can believe whatever God declares. And God declares that Jesus is his Son. 10 All who believe this know in their hearts that it is true. If anyone doesn’t believe this, he is actually calling God a liar because he doesn’t believe what God has said about his Son. 11 And what is it that God has said? That he has given us eternal life and that this life is in his Son. 12 So whoever has God’s Son has life; whoever does not have his Son, does not have life.
Read, hear, and truly listen carefully to the caution He gives to all who call Him Lord.
Matthew 7:17–23 (NASB95) 17 “So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 “A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. 19 “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 “So then, you will know them by their fruits. 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 “Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23 “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’
The warning from verse 21 is very clear. 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
Being a child of God, a son or daughter of the King is not associated with what position you may hold in this earthly realm, what secular or theological degree or education you may or may not have. There is no piece of paper printed and framed hanging on a wall in this earthly realm that designates your name is written in the Lambs Book of Life. It does not matter who your parents are, what church you may attend or be a member of or have been baptized in, confirmed in, married in, or for that matter ordained in.
If you do not know for certain that you are Born Again; that you are no longer of this world, that your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life; that you will spend eternity with your Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: then please open your heart to The Lord Jesus Christ.
The Creator of the Universe is knocking on the door of your heart? He knows your heart and He knows mine as well. Please don’t be stubborn and put this off. HE IS KNOCKING on your door, your heart! Open the door and ask Him in.
Matthew 7:7–12 (NASB95) 7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9 “Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone? 10 “Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? 11 “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him! 12 “In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
Revelation 3:19–22 (NASB95) 19 ‘Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent. 20 ‘Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. 21 ‘He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22 ‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’ ”
This is most important, in fact it is critical. Put aside the traditions, the human wisdom, the religious teachings, the pride, the associations you may have with family and friends, the earthly or religious positions you may hold. This is an eternal life decision. Eternal is very definite in its meaning, it means forever.
If you are born again, then you are in this world but you are not of this world. If there is any question in your thought process, if you are not absolutely sure in both your mind and your spirit then you must sincerely ask the question of Him and seek the answer.
If one is going to ask a question so important to the destiny of one’s own eternal soul it is very important that one focus that question to He who is the source and giver of all life. The One who clearly offers the truth, because He is the Truth. One needs to go directly to the source, He who created all that has been created and He who gives life.
Ask the King of kings, the Lord of lords, The Creator of the Universe, to reveal Himself to you. This is a ‘one-on-one encounter with Your Heavenly Father through the Lord Jesus Christ: His Son and the Holy Spirit of the Living God. It is sacred. If you do not know Him and are truly seeking Him, He will reveal Himself to you. He is the way, the truth and the light. That is His Promise and His promises are always true.
The Lord Jesus Christ, the maker and giver of life, told us clearly in His own words: One cannot be a child of the King if you are not born of the water and the Spirit.
John 3:3–12 (The Living Bible) 3 Jesus replied, “With all the earnestness I possess I tell you this: Unless you are born again, you can never get into the Kingdom of God.” 4 “Born again!” exclaimed Nicodemus. “What do you mean? How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?” 5 Jesus replied, “What I am telling you so earnestly is this: Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. 6 Men can only reproduce human life, but the Holy Spirit gives new life from heaven; 7 so don’t be surprised at my statement that you must be born again! 8 Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it will go next, so it is with the Spirit. We do not know on whom he will next bestow this life from heaven.” 9 “What do you mean?” Nicodemus asked. 10 Jesus replied, “You, a respected Jewish teacher, and yet you don’t understand these things? I am telling you what I know and have seen—and yet you won’t believe me. 12 But if you don’t even believe me when I tell you about such things as these that happen here among men, how can you possibly believe if I tell you what is going on in heaven?
Please listen to Wisdom, His Heavenly Wisdom. Put aside all of your “own understanding” no matter where it may come from and come directly to Him.
If you are truly willing to seek Him;
If you know about Him but do not know Him as your Lord and Savior;
If you are truly willing to give your life to Him;
He will find you and your life will change. You will become a New Creation and all old things will pass away, He will give you a new heart and a new mind. You will know for certainty that you are born again. That you are now a child of the King.
Please read Proverb 3:5-8 (ESV) with me now, and take to heart and hear every word:
5Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil. 8 It will be healing to your body and refreshment to your bones.
We cannot and will not find Him in our own wisdom. We can learn about Him, but will not find Him. We simply cannot find Him on our own.
John 6:41–47 (The Living Bible) 41 Then the Jews began to murmur against him because he claimed to be the Bread from heaven. 42 “What?” they exclaimed. “Why, he is merely Jesus the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know. What is this he is saying, that he came down from heaven?” 43 But Jesus replied, “Don’t murmur among yourselves about my saying that. 44 For no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him to me, and at the Last Day I will cause all such to rise again from the dead. 45 As it is written in the Scriptures, ‘They shall all be taught of God.’ Those the Father speaks to, who learn the truth from him, will be attracted to me. 46 (Not that anyone actually sees the Father, for only I have seen him.) 47 “How earnestly I tell you this—anyone who believes in me already has eternal life!
By His own words; it is not possible to even seek Him unless the Father is drawing you.
Matthew 7:7–8 (The Living Bible) 7 “Ask, and you will be given what you ask for. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened. 8 For everyone who asks, receives. Anyone who seeks, finds. If only you will knock, the door will open.
If you are reading this and seeking, then The Father is drawing you. He is knocking on the door of your heart. Answer the door. Open the door to Him and ask Him into your life. Go into a private place, get down on your knees if possible and simply talk to Him. He is there, He will listen, and He will hear.
Father, please examine our hearts. Examine us closely and carefully. Please give each person reading this the courage, the wisdom and the strength to open the door of their hearts that you may come in. That you may change each heart of stone to a heart of good soil that Your Word, the seed may be planted, watered and You Lord God will cause the growth.
That their lives may be changed.
They may become your son or your daughter.
That they may be Born Again with the Spirit of the Living God.
That they may be filled with the Living Water of the Word.
That their name may be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
To become a Born Again child of God, a son or daughter of the King:
Confess with your heart that you are a sinner. Repent of your sins and Ask Him, the Lord of Lords and King of Kings to come into your heart.
Declare Him as your Lord and Savior. Know that the penalty for sin is death; eternal separation from God. But the Lord Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sins.
The Lord Jesus Christ voluntarily went to the execution stake for you and I. His blood was shed on the cross. Because of His sacrifice, the penalty for our sin has been paid. Whosoever believes in Him has eternal life.
I declare you Lord Jesus as my Lord and King. Please give me the strength to believe in. To make this confession and come to your feet. To receive your healing, your love, your grace. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and change me.
We ask all these things in Your Name Lord Jesus. Amen!
If you truly prayed this prayer; from your heart, you are born again, or if you just re-dedicated your life to Him then, Praise God! You are a Child of the King. You are an heir, to the King. The Kingdom of God is within you. Praise God! Now let’s get started in your new life. It is time to grow, to mature to bear fruit and become a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Get His Word; The Bible, start reading it. Start with Genesis and read it, the entire book of Genesis. It is a personal letter from the creator of the universe to you. Read it in context. Ask Him the questions you have. When you are done with Genesis then read the book of John in the New Testament. Read it as a book in full context. Ask the Lord to show you His Word, and then continue reading His Word in full books where He directs you.
Ask, seek and knock. His promises are true and are for you. He will never disappoint. Read His Word for yourself. Please do not accept the attitudes or opinions of others, including this writing. Go directly to the source, accept no other.
He created the universe and everything that was created. By His power everything is held together. He knows your every thought and nuance, every desire, like and dislike. Do you not think He is capable of answering your questions? Do you not think He is willing to show you His ways? He will teach you, guide you, protect you and give you good things. Of course He is capable of doing so and want nothing more! He loves you! Seek Him and He will find you. Seek Him and He will answer.
THERE IS ONLY ONE TRUE CORNERSTONE, THE FOUNDATION OF OUR FAITH?
You are now a son or daughter of the King, if you have given your life to Him and are a born again child of the Creator of the Universe, born again into eternal life. Absolutely know, by His Word and His promises, beyond any doubt that there is only One who is our foundation, our Rock the only Cornerstone.
He and He alone, The Lord Jesus Christ is the Rock, the foundation of our faith.
Why do we use these terms? There are over 41 references in the Old Testament and 15 in the New Testament that clearly tell us this using the example of the Rock, the Cornerstone or Foundation. Let no man, organization, writing or person tell you differently.
There is only one foundation to build upon. There are many others out there that make this claim. They may weave His name in, or reference Him in other ways. But know there is only one possible foundation of your faith, if you are born again. There is only one who has paid the penalty for our sin.
There is only one way to the Father and it is through the Son. (John 14:) There is no other way!
Regardless of who may come to you with a thought, or idea or a carefully devised plan. No matter what they may say to tickle your ears, or what type of desirable scheme or amenity is created to divert you or distract you. Test everything against His Word. Listen very carefully to what He, the Word of God says:
Isaiah 28:16–18 (CJB) 16 therefore here is what Adonai Elohim says: “Look, I am laying in Tziyon [ Zion ] a tested stone, a costly cornerstone, a firm foundation-stone; he who trusts will not rush here and there. 17 I will make justice the plumbline and righteousness the plumb-bob; hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, water will overflow the hiding place, 18 your covenant with death will be annulled, and your contract with Sh’ol will not stand. When the raging flood passes through, you will be trampled down by it.
Isaiah 28:16–18 (The Living Bible) 16 But the Lord God says, “See, I am placing a Foundation Stone in Zion—a firm, tested, precious Cornerstone that is safe to build on. He who believes need never run away again. 17 I will take the line and plummet of justice to check the foundation wall you built; it looks so fine, but it is so weak a storm of hail will knock it down! The enemy will come like a flood and sweep it away, and you will be drowned. 18 I will cancel your agreement of compromise with death and the devil, so when the terrible enemy floods in, you will be trampled into the ground.
The Lord Jesus Christ is our Salvation, our Cornerstone. He is the Rock the Builders (the children of Israel) rejected when He came to this earth and He is still a stumbling block to them this day as well as anyone who refuses to listen to His Word. He is the promised Messiah, fulfilling the prophecies of the entire Law and the Prophets.
There is no other upon which to build. All others regardless of their titles, including many with Christian names are useless unless they have but one foundation. Go back and read the verse 17 and 18 of the Isaiah 28 passage if you have any doubts.
He is a sure and true foundation. It is not Him and His Word plus anything, no matter who says so, that is a lie or half-truth from the enemy. It is He, The Lord Jesus Christ that is our foundation and Truth. Test everything you see, read and hear against the Word of God. Reject all that is not confirmed in His Word. If it is not in full agreement with His Word then do not accept it. Let no organization or teaching lead you astray. There is but one truth and it is He who is truth. There is but one way, and it is the One who is the Way.
John 14:6–7 (NASB95) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. 7 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.”
When the Holy Spirit of the Living God lives with you and in you, and this happens when you are born again, it is He who is your teacher and your counselor. Simply ask Him to lead you and guide you. Ask Him to guard every step you take. He will be the one to teach you and show you His Wonderful, True and Pure Word.
He very well may use others in your life to plant seeds and water the garden. But know it is He and He alone that cause the growth in you.
Who Is It That You Choose to Serve?
All to His Glory!
