Father, Please Give Me Ears To Hear

Planting and Watering - Part 4
1 Corinthians 3:5–7 (The Living Bible) 5 Who am I, and who is Apollos, that we should be the cause of a quarrel? Why, we’re just God’s servants, each of us with certain special abilities, and with our help you believed. 6 My work was to plant the seed in your hearts, and Apollos’ work was to water it, but it was God, not we, who made the garden grow in your hearts. 7 The person who does the planting or watering isn’t very important, but God is important because he is the one who makes things grow.

Part 4

“Seeds are being planted and watered, but only God can cause the growth”. . This is part four of a seven part series for all who are seeking Him; and is given to The Glory and Honor of He Who Sits Upon the Throne and the Lamb Who Was Slain. Father, circumcise our hearts, open our ears, remove the scales from our eyes and change us. Change us that we may be used by You; that we may walk in Your courts and sit at Your feet. That we may praise Your name forever. AMEN
Revelation 3:22 (NASB95) 22He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’ ”
John 10:27–30 (NASB95) 27My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. 29 “My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. 30 “I and the Father are one.”
John 10:1–7 (NASB95) 1 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber. 2 “But he who enters by the door is a shepherd of the sheep. 3 “To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 “When he puts forth all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5 “A stranger they simply will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers.” 6 This figure of speech Jesus spoke to them, but they did not understand what those things were which He had been saying to them. 7 So Jesus said to them again, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.
John 10:16–17 (NASB95) 16 “I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock with one shepherd. 17 “For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it again.
His Word is often quoted as “those who are His, hear His voice . . . to another they will not listen.” This comes from the scriptures above. The question many ask is this:
“I am a born again Christian, I have given my life to The Lord Jesus Christ, why am I not able to hear His Voice?”
If this is you, and you have asked the Lord to be your Savior and you truly believe in Him; If you love Him and trust Him and obey Him. PRAISE GOD! You are a child of God. You are a son or daughter of the Creator of the Universe. HE LOVES YOU; YES YOU. You are born again and the Holy Spirit of the Living God lives in you. You have eternal life. (John 3: and most of the New Testament)
HOWEVER; Please READ THIS Paragraph Very CAREFULLY: If you are not absolutely SURE you are born of the Spirit of the Living God. Then please right now. Go to Part 1 – Father Am I Yours? It does not matter who you are or what position you may hold, for that matter what secular or theological degree or education you may have. It does not matter who your parents are, what earthly church you may be a member of, or have been baptized in, confirmed in, or ordained in. If you are not born again of the Water and the Spirit; Plainly put with all love, You simply will not understand what the Lord, The Word of God is saying, it will not be understood by you. The god of this World has blinded your eyes. I say this not to be disrespectful, but in Love. I say this not because I am judging you, or because I want to exclude you from anything. I say this because HE, The Word of God in Love says this. The Word of God tells us this in no uncertain terms that you cannot understand the things of God unless the Holy Spirit of the Living God lives in you and you are willing to open your heart to Him. So please if you are not absolutely certain you are a child of the King, that your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life and you are Born of the Water and the Spirit of God; please go no further here, the natural mind cannot understand Heavenly things!! Read 1st Corinthians 1:-3:, it is right there as plain and simple as it can be. Go to Him now, seek eternal life, get that taken care of and then come back .
When we are Born Again, we each start off as a child; a baby, a baby in Christ. We are fed by the milk of the Word of God. Our source of spiritual nutrition should be the Word of God. If we will listen and pay attention, He will give us and teach us that which is from Him, in His Word confirmed by The Word. As babes we are not able to digest meat; no we are only able to drink His Milk. This is where we will stay until we are ready to move forward.
(Note: Please understand His Milk and Meat come from one source, His Word. Please don’t feast on the processed, frozen, or canned food section variety with human interpretation and opinion added enrichments. The real meat of the Word does not come from any human commentary, book or even the comments you are reading now. It comes directly from the Holy Spirit of God through the Word of God. Go directly to the source. Put away everyone else’s opinion including this article if it does not perfectly line up with the Word God. His Word is our standard; our only standard. He will give you the ability to understand that which He is teaching you at the pace you can understand it. He may use this article or others, but it will only be to support what He wants to show you in His Word. Please do not get tied up in the endless supply of opinions, they can easily confuse any of us and allow a foothold for the enemy.
Do you think the previous paragraph is my opinion? Listen to His Word concerning this:
Ecclesiastes 12:8–14 (The Living Bible) 8 All is futile, says the Preacher; utterly futile. 9 But then, because the Preacher was wise, he went on teaching the people all he knew; and he collected proverbs and classified them. 10 For the Preacher was not only a wise man but a good teacher; he not only taught what he knew to the people, but taught them in an interesting manner. 11 The wise man’s words are like goads that spur to action. They nail down important truths. Students are wise who master what their teachers tell them. 12 But, my son, be warned: there is no end of opinions ready to be expressed. Studying them can go on forever and become very exhausting! 13 Here is my final conclusion: fear God and obey his commandments, for this is the entire duty of man. 14 For God will judge us for everything we do, including every hidden thing, good or bad.)
As we begin to grow, we start the process of maturing in Him and are able by and through the Holy Spirit living with us and in us to begin to digest and understand the meat of His Word. It is not by our own understanding, but with the heavenly understanding He gives.
Our growth in the Lord is not a function of earthly time. Our growth is not a function of any earthly association, church membership, or degree. Our growth and maturity in Christ is not a function of how long you have been a born again believer, or what courses you may have completed in seminary.
Being born again is the promise of our Salvation which is a free gift. This gift has been given to all born again believers. This gift is the Holy Spirit of the Living God, living with you and in you. You have gained that which was lost by Adam and Eve. Our spirits are re-connected with the Spirit of the Father as they were with Adam and Eve before the fall, and we are now His Sons and Daughters. The Kingdom of Heaven is within us, don’t go looking for it in visible signs and wonders. Go and read all of what the Lord Jesus told us in Luke 17:.The Kingdom of God is in us because the Spirit of the Living God is living with us and in us, because of the price the Lord Jesus paid at the cross. Praise God.
Luke 17:20–21 (The Living Bible) 20 One day the Pharisees asked Jesus, “When will the Kingdom of God begin?” Jesus replied, “The Kingdom of God isn’t ushered in with visible signs. 21 You won’t be able to say, ‘It has begun here in this place or there in that part of the country.’ For the Kingdom of God is within you.”
Zechariah 4:6–7 (The Living Bible) 6 Then he said, “This is God’s message to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty—you will succeed because of my Spirit, though you are few and weak.’ 7 Therefore no mountain, however high, can stand before Zerubbabel! For it will flatten out before him! And Zerubbabel will finish building this Temple with mighty shouts of thanksgiving for God’s mercy, declaring that all was done by grace alone.”
John 14:16–17 (ESV) 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.
Our true maturity in Christ comes when we are able to move beyond the milk to the meat of the Word. This cannot be digested by babes, and if that is where you are, then that is where you are, but it is time to move on in your walk with The Lord. Heavenly understanding can only be gained by and through the Holy Spirit of the Living God. (See above 1 Corinthians 2:)
If, in your heart you know that you have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior but you are now questioning your salvation because you want God to use you more and you do not hear His voice. Listen carefully; God knows you and He knows your heart.
He knows what you are going to do. He loves you! He knit you together in your mother’s womb. He loves you!  He knows what you have done in your life to this point. He loves you! He knows the mistakes you have made and will make. He loves you! He knows how you are going to react in every situation. He loves you! He wants you to change to have the heart and mind of His Son. He loves you! Remember salvation is a free gift for “whosoever will believe”. He loves you! And just remember above all He Loves You!
The question is; are you willing to totally surrender to God to be used by Him in His Kingdom, for His purposes, for His Glory, and not your own? Are you willing go through the refiners fire? To be cleaned by the fullers soap? To have the dross burned away? To be baptized by the Holy Spirit and fire?
Malachi 3:2–3 (The Living Bible) 2 “But who can live when he appears? Who can endure his coming? For he is like a blazing fire refining precious metal, and he can bleach the dirtiest garments! 3 Like a refiner of silver he will sit and closely watch as the dross is burned away. He will purify the Levites, the ministers of God, refining them like gold or silver, so that they will do their work for God with pure hearts.
Matthew 3:11–12 (The Living Bible) 11 “With water I baptize those who repent of their sins; but someone else is coming, far greater than I am, so great that I am not worthy to carry his shoes! He shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. 12 He will separate the chaff from the grain, burning the chaff with never-ending fire and storing away the grain.”
Revelation 3:18–22 (RSV) 18 Therefore I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may be rich, and white garments to clothe you and to keep the shame of your nakedness from being seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see.19 Those whom I love, I reprove and chasten; so be zealous and repent.20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.21 He who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I myself conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”
He calls “whosoever will” but only those with clean hands and a pure heart does He choose.
Psalm 24:3–5 (RSV) 3 Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place?4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false, and does not swear deceitfully.5 He will receive blessing from the Lord, and vindication from the God of his salvation.
Why is this the case? “So those who love Him and Obey Him will do their work for God with pure hearts.” (Malachi 3: above)  God uses those who are Humble and contrite in spirit, those who tremble at His Word, those who Fear and those who Obey! (Isaiah 66:)
Obedience is a heart that is willing above anything else. A heart; willing to step into any situation that He directs and have total dependence upon Him, regardless of what the world, friends or family have to say.
Our hearts must be changed. So what is the present condition of our hearts?
Jeremiah 17:9–10 (CJB) 9 “The heart is more deceitful than anything else and mortally sick. Who can fathom it? 10 I, Adonai, search the heart; I test inner motivations; in order to give to everyone what his actions and conduct deserve.”
Jeremiah 17:9–10 (NASB95) 9 “The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it? 10 “I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give to each man according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds.
Jeremiah 17:9–10 (The Living Bible) 9 The heart is the most deceitful thing there is and desperately wicked. No one can really know how bad it is! 10 Only the Lord knows! He searches all hearts and examines deepest motives so he can give to each person his right reward, according to his deeds—how he has lived.
Go to Jeremiah 17: and read the entire chapter. It tells the condition of the human heart. This was written when the people of God lived under the Law of Moses. Today, as born again believers, we do not live under the Law of the Old Testament. But the Law given by God has not changed. It is still the standard which God demands. We have been changed:
  • We have been changed by the blood of the Lamb, being born again with the Spirit of the Living God living in us and with us.
  • We have been washed clean by the blood of the Lamb.
  • The penalty for our sin has been paid by the shedding of His Blood for you and I. The Lord Jesus Christ paid our sin debt on the cross at Calvary .
Wow, we have been changed and washed clean.  However, this merciful act of The Father and the Mystery of the Universe unveiled does not give us a license to sin. Absolutely not, we are born again of the Spirit of the Living God, by the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and are “holy priests” unto our God. We are called to “be Holy as He is Holy.”
Neither are we to “practice sin”, continue to sin knowingly defying His commands . The Word makes it very clear that if we continue to practice sin the Holy Spirit cannot be in us .
1 John 3:1–10 (The Living Bible) 1 See how very much our heavenly Father loves us, for he allows us to be called his children—think of it—and we really are! But since most people don’t know God, naturally they don’t understand that we are his children. 2 Yes, dear friends, we are already God’s children, right now, and we can’t even imagine what it is going to be like later on. But we do know this, that when he comes we will be like him, as a result of seeing him as he really is. 3 And everyone who really believes this will try to stay pure because Christ is pure. 4 But those who keep on sinning are against God, for every sin is done against the will of God. 5 And you know that he became a man so that he could take away our sins, and that there is no sin in him, no missing of God’s will at any time in any way. 6 So if we stay close to him, obedient to him, we won’t be sinning either; but as for those who keep on sinning, they should realize this: They sin because they have never really known him or become his. 7 Oh, dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: if you are constantly doing what is good, it is because you are good, even as he is. 8 But if you keep on sinning, it shows that you belong to Satan, who since he first began to sin has kept steadily at it. But the Son of God came to destroy these works of the devil. 9 The person who has been born into God’s family does not make a practice of sinning because now God’s life is in him; so he can’t keep on sinning, for this new life has been born into him and controls him—he has been born again. 10 So now we can tell who is a child of God and who belongs to Satan. Whoever is living a life of sin and doesn’t love his brother shows that he is not in God’s family;
Hebrews 10:21–29 (The Living Bible) 21 And since this great High Priest of ours rules over God’s household, 22 let us go right in to God himself, with true hearts fully trusting him to receive us because we have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean and because our bodies have been washed with pure water. 23 Now we can look forward to the salvation God has promised us. There is no longer any room for doubt, and we can tell others that salvation is ours, for there is no question that he will do what he says. 24 In response to all he has done for us, let us outdo each other in being helpful and kind to each other and in doing good. 25 Let us not neglect our church meetings, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near. 26 If anyone sins deliberately by rejecting the Savior after knowing the truth of forgiveness, this sin is not covered by Christ’s death; there is no way to get rid of it. 27 There will be nothing to look forward to but the terrible punishment of God’s awful anger, which will consume all his enemies. 28 A man who refused to obey the laws given by Moses was killed without mercy if there were two or three witnesses to his sin. 29 Think how much more terrible the punishment will be for those who have trampled underfoot the Son of God and treated his cleansing blood as though it were common and unhallowed, and insulted and outraged the Holy Spirit who brings God’s mercy to his people.
If we continue to practice sin using His Blood as a license to continue in what we know is sin there is no payment available and no way to get rid of it. Is God merciful in His forgiveness? Yes, He sends the Holy Spirit to convict us. He will give us ample chances, but remember He knows the condition of hearts and there will come a point where He will no longer extend His mercy to those who continue to trample underfoot His Son in full defiance or His Word.
Remember, God’s perfect Law has not changed and will not change. Therefore the standard by which we are judged has not changed. As a born again child of God, you and I have been changed; the penalty for our sin has been paid by the Holy and shed Blood of our Lord and Savior. The debt we owe for our transgressions is marked “paid in full”. The Father sees us under the atonement blood of His Son.
But now our hearts must be changed. If we have accepted Him, believe in Him, have Faith in Him and Trust in Him. Even though God knows that in our carnal state our hearts are wicked and deceitful and mortally sick. Our hearts must be changed to accept His free gift. But, we are not the ones who can change our own hearts. Listen to His Promise:
Ezekiel 36:22–27 (The Living Bible) 22 “Therefore say to the people of Israel, ‘The Lord God says: I am bringing you back again, but not because you deserve it; I am doing it to protect my holy name, which you tarnished among the nations. 23 I will honor my great name, that you defiled, and the people of the world shall know I am the Lord. I will be honored before their eyes by delivering you from exile among them. 24 For I will bring you back home again to the land of Israel. 25 “ ‘Then it will be as though I had sprinkled clean water on you, for you will be clean—your filthiness will be washed away, your idol worship gone. 26 And I will give you a new heart—I will give you new and right desires—and put a new spirit within you. I will take out your stony hearts of sin and give you new hearts of love. 27 And I will put my Spirit within you so that you will obey my laws and do whatever I command.
No matter how much we want to, or how hard we strive. Our hearts must change from stone to fertile soil and only He can do so. He will do so for whosoever will answer the knock on the door of their own heart .
Know for certain that cannot continue to practice sin and we cannot teach that it is permissible to continue in sin. Yes, our hearts can now be changed and become good soil for His seed. But, they are changed by Him when we walk in humility, fear and obedience to the Lord of lords and King of kings.
Oh how He delights in and exalts those who humble fear and obey. “Those who tremble at His Word.”
Isaiah 66:1–2 (NASB95) 1 Thus says the Lord, “Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool. Where then is a house you could build for Me? And where is a place that I may rest? 2 “For My hand made all these things, Thus all these things came into being,” declares the Lord. “But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.
Matthew 18:2–4 (The Living Bible) 2 Jesus called a small child over to him and set the little fellow down among them, 3 and said, “Unless you turn to God from your sins and become as little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. 4 Therefore anyone who humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.
1 Peter 5:5–6 (NASB95) 5 You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble. 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time,
Psalm 25:4–14 (The Living Bible) 4 Show me the path where I should go, O Lord; point out the right road for me to walk. 5 Lead me; teach me; for you are the God who gives me salvation. I have no hope except in you. 6 Overlook my youthful sins, O Lord! Look at me instead through eyes of mercy and forgiveness, through eyes of everlasting love and kindness. 8 The Lord is good and glad to teach the proper path to all who go astray; 9 he will teach the ways that are right and best to those who humbly turn to him. 10 And when we obey him, every path he guides us on is fragrant with his loving-kindness and his truth. 11 But Lord, my sins! How many they are. Oh, pardon them for the honor of your name. 12 Where is the man who fears the Lord? God will teach him how to choose the best. 13 He shall live within God’s circle of blessing, and his children shall inherit the earth. 14 Friendship with God is reserved for those who reverence him. With them alone he shares the secrets of his promises.
Are you a baby Christian? Do you have the Faith of a Child? Praise God!!
1st Corinithians 3: 1-2 (The Living Bible) 1 Dear brothers, I have been talking to you as though you were still just babies in the Christian life who are not following the Lord but your own desires; I cannot talk to you as I would to healthy Christians who are filled with the Spirit. 2 I have had to feed you with milk and not with solid food because you couldn’t digest anything stronger. And even now you still have to be fed on milk.
Mark 10:13–16 (NASB95) 13 And they were bringing children to Him so that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked them. 14 But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, “Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all.” 16 And He took them in His arms and began blessing them, laying His hands on them.
Now in order to understand where the Lord will use you is a function of the condition of your heart and your willingness to allow the Holy Spirit to teach, train and equip you.
Matthew 13:18–23 (NASB95) 18 “Hear then the parable of the sower. 19 “When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is the one on whom seed was sown beside the road. 20 “The one on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, this is the man who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he falls away. 22 “And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 23And the one on whom seed was sown on the good soil, this is the man who hears the word and understands it; who indeed bears fruit and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty.”
PLEASE PAY ATTENTION, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. Until your heart is changed and you are willing to walk in fear, humility and obedience; you simply do not have the ears to hear, the eyes to see or the ability to understand heavenly things.
Are you willing to allow the Holy Spirit to teach, train and equip you?
John 14:15–26 (ESV) 15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. 18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” 22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?” 23 Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24 Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me. 25 “These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
He has called all of us to be His Priests:
1 Peter 2:5–10 (The Living Bible) 5 And now you have become living building-stones for God’s use in building his house. What’s more, you are his holy priests; so come to him—you who are acceptable to him because of Jesus Christ—and offer to God those things that please him. 6 As the Scriptures express it, “See, I am sending Christ to be the carefully chosen, precious Cornerstone of my church, and I will never disappoint those who trust in him.” 7 Yes, he is very precious to you who believe; and to those who reject him, well—“The same Stone that was rejected by the builders has become the Cornerstone, the most honored and important part of the building.” 8 And the Scriptures also say, “He is the Stone that some will stumble over, and the Rock that will make them fall.” They will stumble because they will not listen to God’s Word nor obey it, and so this punishment must follow—that they will fall. 9 But you are not like that, for you have been chosen by God himself—you are priests of the King, you are holy and pure, you are God’s very own—all this so that you may show to others how God called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were less than nothing; now you are God’s own. Once you knew very little of God’s kindness; now your very lives have been changed by it.
Revelation 1:5–6 (NASB95) 5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood— 6 and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father—to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Revelation 5:10 (The Living Bible) 10 And you have gathered them into a kingdom and made them priests of our God; they shall reign upon the earth.”
Those He chooses to use will be those who are willing to humble themselves before The Living God of all created things and be obedient to Him and to His calling. He will use those He Calls to plant the seed and water the garden. Sign posts pointing to Him. It is He who must increase and we must decrease. The seed He will give us to plant and then water is the pure Word of God. It is never the doctrine of man. We are to plant and water. It is He and He alone who brings about the growth. Our job is to be faithful and obedient planting and watering the garden.
1 Corinthians 3:5–9 (NASB95) 5 What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, even as the Lord gave opportunity to each one. 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. 7 So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth. 8 Now he who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. 9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.
Okay, so how does one start the process of allowing the Lord to change one’s heart? If you are born again of the Water and the Spirit then:
Fill the well within you (your heart) with the Pure Truth of His Word, the Living Water of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Word of God is not books, articles or even writings such as this. It is not exhaustive theology study, or countless years in seminary.
The Word of God is the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Word of God is not a “what”. The Word of God is a Person, The King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, The Lord Jesus Christ . Always refer to Him with the reverence and honor He is due for He has been crowned and sits at the right hand of The Father. He is your Lord King Jesus and mine and referring to Him as Lord brings Glory and Honor to The Father who elevated Him to that position.
His Word is given to us by and through the Holy Spirit of the Living God. We find it in the Bible. Now we must have ears to hear.
Having ears to hear The Word of God is not the result of church membership, Sunday school attendance, seminary, or higher education degree or thesis. These may be helpful and the Lord may use these to His Glory, but again the best these can be is the planting of the seed and watering the garden. Having ears to hear is not a result of reading an article or a book, regardless of who wrote it. It is not a result of reading the article you are reading now. These are all tools; tools that may be helpful and the Holy Spirit may use them, but really they are seed, either His good seed from His Pure and True Word, or tares which very well can be the religious teaching and doctrines of man. Lord, protect our hearts that only Your Holy, Pure and True seed is planted.
Sometimes He uses us as gardening tools to till the weeds of the garden that are not intertwined with the good roots. But please understand just a Paul told us So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God causes the growth.” He, The Creator of the Universe is the one who causes the growth.
He is the one who gives us spiritual understanding. It is HIS WORD; His Pure and True Word, the Lord Jesus Christ, who must receive all the glory. Not man, regardless of who or what earthly credentials or positions are held.
“Jesus Christ is Lord to the Glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:11) It is to He and The Father that we give all the Glory, Honor, Praise, Power and Dominion. (Revelation 4: & 5:) He is the source of all life, in every way. He and He alone gives Eternal Life. (John 5:)  Do not be distracted by that which is of man . Focus on The One who is the giver and sustainer of all life. He Who Sits Upon the Throne and the Lamb. (Revelation 4: & 5:)

We must fill the well within us with the Pure Word of God? What do we mean by the “Pure Word”.
Would you not agree, words have meaning and we gain human understanding based upon the definition of, and our understanding of, the words we read and hear? In this sinful world the enemy is here to distract us and slightly or completely change the meaning of words such that the meaning and understanding of what we hear or read even in the bible can have many different meanings. The same applies to what we hear when we listen to others, or read books and articles. (Yes, just like this one) It is so easy to walk away with half-truths and opinions. (a half-truth is no truth at all) The enemy is very good at this. Why do you think there are so many Christian denominations that have totally different views about even the most basic things? His word clearly tells us the value of our “own understanding”.
Proverbs 3:5–7 (NASB95) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
Proverbs 3:5 tells us not to lean on our own understanding; in all things rely upon Him. Very basic, do you know what the word “all” means?
Simple; all means all, so tell me please in detail what is excluded?
If one hungers for divine understanding, you cannot and will not be able to derive it on your own. It does not matter who you may study under, or what college or seminary degree, merit or ordination you have. One can spend their entire life memorizing the bible and discussing every jot and tittle, and have nothing but an earthly understanding of the milk of His Word. Look at the religious teachers that were in charge at the time He walked this earth. No one was better educated in His Word than they were.
It is the soil of our heart which must be prepared and it is only He who can do this, and then only if we are willing and obedient. If our hearts of stone are changed to good soil then when the seed is planted and watered, God is the one who causes it to grow and it then yields 30, 60, 100 fold.
As you allow Him; He changes your heart and gives you heavenly understanding, He will also purge from you that which is not from Him, this is the “bad seed”; the religious teachings and doctrines of man. AGAIN: He will only do this, IF YOU ARE WILLING. This is His refiner’s fire, (Malachi 3:) the burning of the chaff, (Matthew 3:), the Fullers Soap (Malachi 3:). The gold and silver refined in the furnace seven times. (Revelation 3:) This is the true  Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
What is left in our hearts after all of this is His Pure Word, with a Heavenly understanding by and through the Holy Spirit of the Living God. (1 Corinthians 1: – 3:)
Then, as He may direct you to others you will know if what they speak is from Him and He will clearly show you that which is not. If it is of Him then it will be in agreement with His Pure Word and He will confirm it in you, time and time again in His Word. This is Holy Spirit given discernment. The doctrine of man which is the chaff and dross will fall to the ground to be consumed in the fire.
The doctrine of man may sound very good. It might line up with lots of different people’s opinions; it may be accepted by many you know and respected, both in the leadership of the organized church, and those you love. But please understand man’s opinion can be very much like the tares The Lord Jesus describes:
Matthew 13:24–30 (NASB95) 24 Jesus presented another parable to them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25 “But while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went away. 26 “But when the wheat sprouted and bore grain, then the tares became evident also. 27 “The slaves of the landowner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ 28 “And he said to them, ‘An enemy has done this!’ The slaves said to him, ‘Do you want us, then, to go and gather them up?’ 29 “But he said, ‘No; for while you are gathering up the tares, you may uproot the wheat with them. 30 ‘Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather up the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them up; but gather the wheat into my barn.” ’ ”
Man’s opinion is exactly that; man’s opinion, and one can exhaust one’s self trying to sort through it all. In the end it is still man’s opinion and may or may not contain pieces of His Pure Truth. Seek the Holy Spirit for discernment with all of this and listen to His Voice.
Better yet; why even try to sort through all of man’s earthly opinions? Simply fill the well within you with His Pure Word and then allow the Holy Spirit to bring back to your memory that which is needed when it is needed, but remember it must be there in the first place.
Isaiah 55:6–11 (NASB95) 6 Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. 8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts. 10 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; 11 So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.
Do you trust Him? These are His promises: His Word will never return void. His Word is what needs to go out. We all need to Hear His Word.
Romans 10:8–15 (The Living Bible) 8 For salvation that comes from trusting Christ—which is what we preach—is already within easy reach of each of us; in fact, it is as near as our own hearts and mouths. 9 For if you tell others with your own mouth that Jesus Christ is your Lord and believe in your own heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in his heart that a man becomes right with God; and with his mouth he tells others of his faith, confirming his salvation. 11 For the Scriptures tell us that no one who believes in Christ will ever be disappointed. 12 Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect: they all have the same Lord who generously gives his riches to all those who ask him for them. 13 Anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved. 14 But how shall they ask him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? 15 And how will anyone go and tell them unless someone sends him? That is what the Scriptures are talking about when they say, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Gospel of peace with God and bring glad tidings of good things.” In other words, how welcome are those who come preaching God’s Good News!
We are called upon to share His Word in every situation. Just be aware, many say they are His and claim to have His Word and may be very vocal about it. They may be someone you respect, or someone who has gained respect in your family or in other realms of your life. (Remember: It is not our position to disrespect or judge others; it is God who judges the heart.) If what someone says or how they live their life does not totally line up with the Word of God, then why would you consult them in spiritual matters? Just as His Word tells us “there is no end of opinions” (Ecclesiastes 12:), many are well meaning, but man’s opinion is exactly that.
Please Note:  Always Read the Word of God in Context, reading the entire chapter or book, asking the Holy Spirit of the Living God to give you “Heavenly Wisdom and Heavenly Understanding” (1 Corinthians  1:,2: & 3:).  Always fill the well within you with the Pure Word of God, His Pure Truth; fill the well to overflowing.  “Do not lean on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:) or fractionate verses or sections of His Word that by human or carnal wisdom lead to earthly or religious understandings, doctrines and practices.  It is not for us to interpret the Word of God.  There is only one truth to any given matter and The Holy Spirit will reveal that truth and confirm that truth in The Word; time and time again in your heart, but you must be willing to put aside all (religious teachings and carnal interpretations) and allow “His winnowing fork to separate the wheat from the chaff with unquenchable fire”; this is the true baptism of the Holy Spirit and Fire.  (Matthew 3:)  Please remember it is only the seed that we as humans can plant and water, Heavenly Wisdom, Heavenly Understanding and Growth come directly from God, by and through the Holy Spirit with us and in us (1 Corinthians 3:, John 14:) for those who will open their hearts and minds to Him and come with humility, fear, obedience and reverence.
Know His Truth: “So we have the message of the prophets more certainly guaranteed.  Please pay attention to this message as to a lamp that is shining in a dismal place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; 20 because you recognize this truth above all else, that no prophecy in Scripture is to be interpreted by one’s own mind, 21 for no prophecy has ever yet originated in man’s will, but men who were led by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. (2 Peter 1:)
Gain “Heavenly Wisdom and Heavenly Understanding” by and through the Holy Spirit of the Living God, who is “with you and in you” (John 14:); These are the promises to each who are truly born again, of the King.  So, “Be not Wise in your own eyes”.  (Proverbs 3:)  knowing without a doubt that the:  “natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.” (1 Corinthians 2:14).   His Truth is His Truth, because He is the Truth.  It can only be understood with Heavenly Wisdom and Heavenly Understanding as He and He alone gives and confirms in His Word.
Read His Word In Context – Fill The Well Within You with His Living Water.
We are all sinners but those who are His, who are willing to be obedient; who truly love Him will teach from His Word and only His Word. Everything will be taken back to His Word, and confirmed in His Word. It will be His Wisdom they rely upon and teach from. These are the Godly men and women to seek out. They will point you to The Lord Jesus Christ, not some quote from the latest and greatest Christian author.
The Lord will put these people in your pathway if you ask Him to do so. Yes, they are human, and will make mistakes, but you will know they are His because of the fruit they bear. You will know they are His because they do not practice sin. You will know they are His because they humble themselves, will not accept praise or accolades and have only one source for all they share, The Lord Jesus Christ, The Word of God! You will know they are His because of the love they have for The Father. You will know they are His because they love their neighbor as themselves. You will know they are His because they are obedient. They do not follow the world because they are not of this world. They do not promote or condone what the Word of God clearly tells us is sin. They are not accepted by the world, because they are not of this world. They will be persecuted for their beliefs, just as the Lord Jesus Christ was. But they simply want to be nothing more than sign posts pointing to the Lord Jesus Christ.  You will see and you will know the Love of Christ is in them.
If you have read this far, are a born again child of the King, and wish to continue, then I will share with you my personal testimony of how He taught me, all to His Glory. I am no one special, a sinner saved by grace and a child of the King. And yes, I make my share of mistakes and stumble quite often.  But, I will share what He has done with me in my walk planting the seeds and watering the garden. He has confirmed this in me and will do the same for you if you have a willing heart and a contrite spirit.
Let’s get started:
Please understand the Lord may get your attention in many different ways . He may strike some with lightning, or make Himself known to them in a dream or vision, or any other way you can name, including simply allowing you to think you are the one seeking Him. Remember He is God we do not put Him in a box. And we rejoice in whatever He does, but if you want to hear His Voice and continue to Hear His Voice then understand that your heart must be changed by Him and you must know His Word. You must fill the well within you with His Pure Word, read His Word in Context.  In order to know His Voice you must truly know Him and He is Word.
Regardless of how He reveals Himself to you, His Word must be in you. It is not possible to have a Heavenly understanding of His Word if you do not know Him, if you do not come to Him in humility, fear and obedience. He is The Lord Jesus Christ, The Son of The Father.
You must fill the well within you with His Pure and True Word, this takes time; time with Him. We are not talking about filling our brains with the opinions of man, no matter how they may tickle our ears; we must fill the well within us with His Word. This also means that He must purge from you that which is not of Him. This may not be easy; in fact it can be very difficult most of us carry with us, the baggage of years of “religious teachings and doctrines”. Trust Him to direct you and give you understanding. Stand on His promise:
Jeremiah 33:3 (Tanakh) 3 Call to Me, and I will answer you, And I will tell you wondrous things, Secrets you have not known.
Know this is true, it is His Promise! So let’s go to His Word and, The Lord Jesus Christ, when He walked this earth told us very plainly”
Matthew 6:5–8 (NASB95) 5 “When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. 6“But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. 7 “And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words. 8 “So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
If this is His Word, spoken by The Word that was made flesh and dwelt among us, then let us do exactly what He tells us and know that He will reward us just as He promises.
First: Get on knees before Him with your shoes removed, Honor Him as the God and Father He is. Ask Him to help you, lead you and cause to happen all that is necessary that you may spend time with Him in your secret place. Surrender your heart to Him and ask The Holy Spirit to help you and protect you that you may fill the well within you with His Truth and nothing else. Humble yourself before Him and seek Him with a healthy fear of who He is, in obedience to His Word and in reverence to Him. Accept nothing less from yourself.
Psalm 29:1–2 (Tanakh) 1 A psalm of David. Ascribe to the Lord, O divine beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. 2 Ascribe to the Lord the glory of His name; bow down to the Lord, majestic in holiness.
Next; He led me to a good reading Bible. I suggest for English reading brothers and sisters: The Living Bible. Not the New Living Translation, but; The Living Bible. This is a good reading Bible for the baby Christian. It is not intended as a detailed word for word translation but it is a great place to start. There are many others out there as well, but simply ask that He lead you to the best one for you.
(Note: The Living Bible was in print in the late 1960’s through I believe the 1990’s. It was the number one selling book in America for a couple of years in the 1970’s . It was replaced by the New Living Translation and was then out of print for a number of years, but I just went to the internet and it is being printed again and can be purchased new.) Check Amazon and the internet. I find them at used book stores on the internet or in our city and can usually get one for under $10.00. It is available digitally at, but I have not found it at any of the free bible online sites. It may be there just go and check it out if you want an online version for reference. Get a hard copy for your quiet time with the Father, because that computer or tablet is going to be turned off.)
I would then have another Bible as well. One that is more of a detailed translation like The King James, The New King James, or The New American Standard, all being good choices. But just remember, languages by their very nature have different ways of arranging and expressing thoughts that in essence make a word for word translation not really understandable unless one is fluent in both languages.  So all translations are in essence a thought for thought effort to convey what was being said in the original language.  Some convey more detail and description than others. Just ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in whatever bible you chose or you already have. Do translations have errors in them?  Of course they do, they were written by humans.  But this is so simple just ask the Author to lead you and interpret; He is with you and in you, so simply ask the Holy Spirit to lead you and guide you!
NOTE:  For all of you KJV only folks. I love you; but must simply ask you why you insist on putting The Father, The Lord Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit of the Living God in a box, a man made box?
Do you personally speak and communicate today in King James English? Are you fluent and understand the meaning of words and phrases used almost 400 years ago? Did the Lord Jesus Christ, the disciples or the people of His day speak King James English? What about the Septuagint, the Lord himself quoted directly from it and it was a Greek translation of the Hebrew manuscripts of the Tanakh. So does the KJV supersede this ancient translation as well?
Were the 1611 translators of the King James Version infallible? If so why were there over 100,000 changes made in 1700’s?  (Many may have been spelling errors, but come on infallible is infallible, unless your understanding of the word infallible means something different to you than it means to me.)
How could it be, most of the bible we have today was found in fragments and pieces many hundreds of years after they were written.  By its very nature this translation process we so rely upon, provides the vehicle for the translator to give validity to religious doctrines and solidify church practices and traditions of the time and the denomination. Furthermore, does the entire world speak English? What about translations in the other 160 plus languages in the world.
Don’t you know that the Word of God is not ink stains on paper? The Word of God is the Lord Jesus Christ, and we can only understand the ink on paper we have today by and through the Holy Spirit. He will use the translation or translations He directs you to; to give you heavenly wisdom and heavenly understanding of the ink on paper you have before you. But you must be willing to trust Him and go to the source to truly understand the ink on paper before you.  Insisting that there is only one translation is simply human pride in religious teachings. It is the human pride of doctrines and religious understandings in your own mind; the pride that says this translation lines up with my own carnal understanding of His Word.
Do you prefer the KJV translation?  Great!! Is it the translation you want to use? Great Again!! But to state or imply that it is the only translation that is accurate is just a half-truth of the enemy. Please ask the Holy Spirit directly this question?
I would not get a study Bible with all kinds of commentary and study notes. If you want to hear His Voice then you want His Voice, not someone else’s comments no matter who’s they are. When you have a question; ask the author directly.
(Note: If you are an English reading brother or sister: It is my suggestion to not use the Amplified Bible at this time. Although the Lord may take you to any bible and can use them all to show you His Word as well as that which is Not His Word, just understand that the Amplified Bible inserts its own commentary right in the passage. Right or wrong, I am not here to comment, it is simply man’s insertion in God’s Word and it can be very distracting and misleading for the baby Christian who wants to hear His Voice.)
His Voice is His Voice and He is the Word. Read His Word.
(Note: Please do not get hung up at this time on what version of the bible you should be reading. This person has their favorite and that person has his or her favorite, just as I do. But if you are truly willing, and have the faith and trust to let the Holy Spirit of the Living God teach you, then do you not think He will show you that which is His Word. If you are so blessed to have two bibles, Praise God!! If you only have one Bible then Praise God as well.
Please understand if one translation directs the reader in a way that the Holy Spirit does not want you to go that will fall to the ground if you are truly seeking Him. This does not mean that we should knowingly pursue that which is not of the Lord, but realize that neither you, nor I, can understand His Word without the Holy Spirit to show us. (Go read the first 3 chapters of 1 Corinthians if you don’t understand this.) Have the faith and/or trust In God to truly answer the prayer you prayed when you asked the Lord to direct you to the translation of the bible that is right for you at this time.)
Then:  Commit to Him that you will come to a specified private room or private area and be uninterrupted for a set period of time. That means go to a private room or area, shut the door, turn the phone off, turn the computer off, as well as the smart phone and the tablet and let there be no interruptions. This may need to be at 4:00 am because that is the only time it will work for you, but set the time and be faithful in this very small matter. Ask the Lord to give you the added strength and alertness to make this time meaningful.  We all know that families, work schedules and life in general all make huge demands on our time. But, this must be a priority. Set the time according to your schedule and be there. If you can, start off with 15-30 minutes a day for 3 days a week, great. Don’t be more aggressive than you absolutely know you will accomplish.
(Note: Pick a time when you will not be distracted by others. But also pick a time when you will not be distracted by yourself. This is not the time to plan the day’s events, decide what you are going to say to your boss at work today, plan a hunting trip, worry about the kids or what you are going to wear, or what you are going to fix for dinner. Pick a time that you have the best opportunity to clear your mind of worldly things and be determined to spend time sitting at the feet of your Father. I know of no one who will admit that this does not take discipline on your part. It did and does for me and will for you. Ask the Holy Spirit to help. Rid your mind of the clutter and worldly things that entrap us. Make no mistake about it, this is no simple matter if you allow the enemy and the cares of this world to distract you.)
The most important part of this step is that you are faithful to Him. If you commit to Him to be there, then be there. Be there in mind, body and spirit. He will and has moved heaven and earth for you because you are His son or daughter. You need to have the same attitude. Increase your time and frequency as He guides you. Listen for His still small voice. Know the enemy will do everything possible to disrupt, confuse, make excuses and just about anything you can imagine. But just ask The Father for His hand of protection on you and your flesh nature.
Then: On your knees, (provided you can physically do so), show reverence to the King of the Universe. Start your time together with a prayer. Ask Him to lead you and guide you. It needs to be from your heart, and commit to yourself and Him that you will only pray from your heart. He knows your heart and this is the time to be totally honest with Him about everything. He already knows you and your heart, even more than you do. He knows your wants and desires. He knows your challenges and your sins. So be honest with Him and share your heart with Him. Hold nothing back; this is your Heavenly Father you are talking to.
Matthew 6:6 (NASB95) 6 “But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
Honor Him as God from you heart. Humble yourself before Him. Repent of your sins.
Our sins are covered by the Blood of the Lamb. Please stop right here and read John 6: all of it. Read it in context. Ask yourself what warning and promise He gave to the seventy? It was too hard for all of them but His immediate disciples. He is asking you the same question? What does it truly mean to repent of your sins? What does it truly mean to be washed by the blood of the Lamb? What does it mean to eat His flesh and drink His Blood?
Break: If He puts it on your heart please with prayer, go and read at minimum “Part 5 – Be Holy for I AM Holy – The Body and Blood or Our Lord Jesus Christ” from the website, “Worship According To Thy Word” tab; (an audio mp3 file download is also available). All Praise, Credit, Honor and Glory be unto our God!
Ask Him to lead you and guide you in His Word. Ask Him to clear away anything that may consume you. Ask Him to reveal anything in your life that is not pleasing to Him.
Break: If anger, bitterness, resentment, or un-forgiveness in in your heart towards anyone in any way. It does not matter who it may be, or what may have happened. Please allow the Lord Jesus Christ to take that away. SEEK HIM, this is no small matter. There is a short article entitled “Unforgiveness” at the website, under the “To His Glory” tab . Know that you cannot have an intimate relationship with The Father if you have un-forgiveness in your heart. He says it very clearly in His Word.
Matthew 6:14–15 (The Living Bible) 14 Your heavenly Father will forgive you if you forgive those who sin against you; but if you refuse to forgive them, he will not forgive you.
Bitterness, anger, resentment and un-forgiveness are an absolute road block in your spiritual life. It will STOP YOU COMPLETELY . Give it ALL to Him, repent and ask Him to free you from this entanglement. Ask Him to change you! He will do so if you are willing.
All Praise, Credit, Honor and Glory be unto our God!
Now: Fill the well within you with His Pure Word. Each day that you are able to meet with Him, ask Him to take you where He wants you to read from His Word. Put your hand on your bible and ask Him to lead you, help you and teach you. Give Him the glory, honor, praise and thanksgiving. Have both of your bibles there, if you have two, and listen for His still small voice. If you do not know where He wants you to go, then start at the beginning. (Just an idea; both Genesis and John start with the words “In the beginning”) . When you read, He will most often have you read the entire book, not in one session necessarily, but at least the entire chapter. Read in context, read it in context, oh yes one other thing. . . . READ IT IN CONTEXT ALWAYS! Don’t pick and choose verses. Read in Context. He may direct you or give you the urge to read the same chapter or book from both bibles, and more than once and then again.
When you have a question: ASK! Ask the author. Ask Him to show you, ask Him to confirm it in you, ask Him to remove the scales from your eyes and the wax from your ears. (Isaiah 6:); I will usually write questions down in my journal with the date and then when He shows me the answer from His Word and confirms it I record the answer as well with the appropriate date.
Know this truth, and if you need to remind yourself of it every day then do so by reading this scripture out loud until it is written on your heart.
2 Peter 1:19–21 (NASB95) 19 So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts. 20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, 21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
Guard this time together with the Father; let it be the most precious pearl imaginable. This is where He will meet you every day
Do not over commit in the beginning. Our spirits may be willing but the flesh is very weak. Start off at a pace that you will honor. He will honor you if you honor Him. If something happens, don’t beat yourself up. Take it to Him, repent and ask Him to help you. Ask Him to help clear your schedule. Ask Him to wake you up in the morning. Ask Him to show you those things that need to be set aside or gotten rid of in your life, be it facebook, twitter, television, novels, videogames, movies, the internet. Craigslist, whatever . . . . He is Our Heavenly Father. He loves us with a love we cannot even comprehend. Open your heart to Him and see what a great Father He Is. Remember when faced with what we think is impossible, the Lord Jesus Christ said to the disciples when they questioned Him about difficult matters; “for man it is impossible, but with God all things are possible”.
He will start the process of convicting you of those things in your life that are not pleasing to Him. You will need to go through the process of taking these things out of your life. Not only are they harmful to us as His Sons and daughters they may not Honor the Father and grieve the Holy Spirit. This is the process of winnowing, pruning, sifting, the refiner’s fire, the burning of the chaff and the branches, the fuller’s soap and the gold and silver being refined seven times in the furnace. This is The True Baptism of the Holy Spirit and Fire.(Matthew 3:)  If you refuse to let go, then this process may take quite a while or may not happen. He requires obedience; you cannot love Him if you are not willing to obey Him. He will convict you and provide a way to remove that which He shows you. It will always be in full accordance with His Word but you must be willing.
Don’t worry about what He is doing with other people. Don’t compare yourself to others. Don’t worry about what He is going to do with you. Do you trust Him? You are His precious son or daughter and He will not give you a stone or a serpent instead of a loaf of bread. The timing is His, not yours. He will first change your heart, if you are willing.
  • The one thing that is required of you is obedience.
  • Listen for His still small voice, and know that everything He gives you He will confirm in scripture.
  • He will never contradict His Word. NEVER
  • He will confirm that which He shows you; always in the presence of two or more witnesses. (His Word requires the testimony of two or more witnesses in all matters. Check it out in both the Old and New Testament. He will honor this.)
  • Again, He will confirm everything that is from Him in His Word. That is why you need to fill the well within you with His Pure Word. You will begin to see that which is of Him and that which is not.
  • Do not go to outside sources until you hear Him well enough to know that it is He who is directing you. This is discernment and it cannot be learned until you have His Pure Word in you, until you have the Rock of Your Salvation firmly planted as the true foundation of your faith.
  • Everything is built on the foundation of our faith. The Rock of our Salvation; The Lord Jesus Christ. There are no other foundations.
  • Remember; If you don’t know His True and Pure Word it is very difficult to Know His Voice. Do not, do not, do not just read verses fractionating them to confirm or support an established religious position. Read the entire chapter, in context.
  • He will never send you out to share with others until He first prepares you and equips you.
  • Test the spirits. Go to 1 John, read the entire book. Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you His Word. Do it.
When you are with Him in your private room, you are in the secret place. Go and read about it in Psalm 91:
Seek Him and Him alone. Listen to Him and Him alone. He may direct you to other brothers and sisters that will plant good seeds and water the garden with the Living Water of His Word, but it is Him and Him alone that you want. It is He who causes the growth in you.
Watch the small miracles begin to happen. Now that I have said that, please know and understand there are no “small” miracles. Our God spoke this entire universe and all of creation into existence., and every breath we take is a miracle from Him.
Revelation 4:11 (NASB95) 11 “Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.”
Remember, even the hairs on our heads are numbered. Let us never deny the power of God and never cease to Give Him All the Glory.
Once you begin to Hear His Voice, please be aware that the still small voice you hear may not always be from the Lord. We still live in a fallen world, and have sinful flesh.
Stop, how can that be?
Don’t forget, we still have our flesh nature, and the enemy knows that any way he can distract you, confuse you or play with your mind is a win for him. Yes, Satan and all that is associated with him is a defeated foe, but he is still out there causing all of the havoc and confusion he can.
So the still small voice that we hear. The voice we hear in our mind; whose voice is it?
  • His Voice, the voice of the Good Shepard. That which is from Him will always be loving, sometimes very stern, but He is not the accuser of the brethren. Yes The Holy Spirit will convict us of our sins. We will all make mistakes but understand He is your loving Father. He will discipline you but never in a condemning or hurtful way. He is giving you and will always give you a loaf of bread not a serpent, if you are His. No discipline is fun at the time, but He Loves you and wants only that which is the best for you.
Everything He will say to you will never contradict His Word. That is why you must fill the well within you with His Word. You must know Him and His Word. You will learn to recognize His Voice, because He is the Word . That is also why you must test everything you hear. We are not testing God; we are testing that which we hear to know it is from God.

  • Your Own Flesh; this is our own mind. Be careful, you can convince yourself of most anything thinking God is directing you to do something. No matter how good your intentions may be, we live in flesh bodies and live in a sinful world. Test every voice. If it does not totally line up with the Word then reject it out of hand. Ask the Lord to bring every idea, thought and intention you may have to be in total agreement with His Word. Ask for the Holy Spirit to help on this. We all need loads of help. Ask Him to confirm everything.

  • The Enemy: The enemy is very clever. He is the father of all lies. He is the father of half-truths. We know he has an angle for everything, and we know that His one purpose is to distract us away from our Father. He and his minions will use every trick, lie, or half-truth possible to lead us away from God. They can even appear as an angel of light. They have been around for quite a period of time so it is not our job to try to match wits with them, argue or debate with them. Just remember Satan and all that are with him are defeated foes. They were defeated at the cross and have no power over any who are born of the Spirit, unless we allow it. Those who are bought by the blood of the Lamb are a kingdom of priests unto our God and they rule and reign.
Revelation 5:9–10 (RSV) 9 and they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy art thou to take the scroll and to open its seals, for thou wast slain and by thy blood didst ransom men for God from every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 and hast made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on earth.
Know this very well; you and I have been bought for a price. You are a son or daughter of the King, and a Holy Priest unto our God. You have the mark of the Lord Jesus Christ on your forehead. “Resist the devil and he must flee from you.”
James 4:5–8 (The Living Bible) 5 Or what do you think the Scripture means when it says that the Holy Spirit, whom God has placed within us, watches over us with tender jealousy? 6 But he gives us more and more strength to stand against all such evil longings. As the Scripture says, God gives strength to the humble but sets himself against the proud and haughty. 7 So give yourselves humbly to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 And when you draw close to God, God will draw close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and let your hearts be filled with God alone to make them pure and true to him.
We are also given clear direction to test the spirits. From His Word:
1 John 4:1–10 (The Living Bible) 1 Dearly loved friends, don’t always believe everything you hear just because someone says it is a message from God: test it first to see if it really is. For there are many false teachers around, 2 and the way to find out if their message is from the Holy Spirit is to ask: Does it really agree that Jesus Christ, God’s Son, actually became man with a human body? If so, then the message is from God. 3 If not, the message is not from God but from one who is against Christ, like the “Antichrist” you have heard about who is going to come, and his attitude of enmity against Christ is already abroad in the world. 4 Dear young friends, you belong to God and have already won your fight with those who are against Christ because there is someone in your hearts who is stronger than any evil teacher in this wicked world. 5 These men belong to this world, so, quite naturally, they are concerned about worldly affairs and the world pays attention to them. 6 But we are children of God; that is why only those who have walked and talked with God will listen to us. Others won’t. That is another way to know whether a message is really from God; for if it is, the world won’t listen to it. 7 Dear friends, let us practice loving each other, for love comes from God and those who are loving and kind show that they are the children of God, and that they are getting to know him better. 8 But if a person isn’t loving and kind, it shows that he doesn’t know God—for God is love. 9 God showed how much he loved us by sending his only Son into this wicked world to bring to us eternal life through his death. 10 In this act we see what real love is: it is not our love for God but his love for us when he sent his Son to satisfy God’s anger against our sins.
1 John 4:1–6 (NASB95) 1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; 3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world. 4 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. 5 They are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
Test the Spirits. That is what He says and that is exactly what He means.
Okay Lord, we know that it is You who have called us and it is You who equip us. Now, how do we prepare? Why do we need to put on the full armor of God every day:
Ephesians 6:10–18 (The Living Bible) 10 Last of all I want to remind you that your strength must come from the Lord’s mighty power within you. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand safe against all strategies and tricks of Satan. 12 For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against persons without bodies—the evil rulers of the unseen world, those mighty satanic beings and great evil princes of darkness who rule this world; and against huge numbers of wicked spirits in the spirit world. 13 So use every piece of God’s armor to resist the enemy whenever he attacks, and when it is all over, you will still be standing up. 14 But to do this, you will need the strong belt of truth and the breastplate of God’s approval. 15 Wear shoes that are able to speed you on as you preach the Good News of peace with God. 16 In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. 17 And you will need the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit—which is the Word of God. 18 Pray all the time. Ask God for anything in line with the Holy Spirit’s wishes. Plead with him, reminding him of your needs, and keep praying earnestly for all Christians everywhere.
This is real armor, and do not doubt it for a moment. You are now born of the spirit, your home is not this world, and you are not of this world but you are in this world. So wake up and understand this armor may not be seen in this carnal world but it is real, each piece is The Lord Jesus Christ.
He is Truth
He is the Good News of Peace:
He is the breastplate of Righteous
He is the helmet of Salvation
He is the shield of Faith
He is the sword of the Word
The battle we are engaged in each day is not carnal, and only with ears to hear and eyes to see do we understand this:
Ephesians 6:10-12 (The Living Bible) 10 Last of all I want to remind you that your strength must come from the Lord’s mighty power within you.
Our strength comes from the Lord’s mighty power that is in us, The Holy Spirit of the Living God. Realize, we are in this world but we are not of this world. Our home is in heaven. These battles are fought in the unseen world and they are real, and those we are fighting against are real. God’s armor is real. Just because we cannot see with earthly eyes what we battle against does not mean it does not exist or have power. Yes the foe is defeated, but he and his armies still exist and will do everything possible to keep you away from that which is of God. Without fail, put on the full armor of God every day – regardless!
So with the full armor of God set in place we are to test the Spirit. Ask yourself first: Is what you hear confirmed in the Word? Remember two or three witnesses. Ask the Holy Spirit to confirm that which you have heard.
If you believe that He has confirmed what you have heard, then simply ask the voice that you hear if the words he has given you are from the Holy Spirit of the Living God. If the spirit confirms that this voice is from God, then simply by the authority and at the direction of the Word of God (1 John 4:) ask the spirit if he confesses that Jesus Christ came in the flesh?
Remember, Satan and his demons are liars, so of course they will say they are from God when asked the first question. But simply wait for an answer. Wait. Clear your mind and wait. Do not answer for them. Just wait. You will either hear a Yes or a No. They must answer because it is by the authority and at the direction of the King of the Universe you are asking. If it is a confirmation then Praise God. Now, make sure you wait and hear the answer. Again, don’t answer in your mind for them.
If it is a denial, then according to His Word (Zechariah 3: and Jude: all ) rebuke the spirit.
“The Lord Jesus Christ rebuke you Satan; you and your principalities, powers, rulers and authorities and anything associated with you. May the Lord Jesus Christ Bind you and cast you into far away and dry places. You have no authority here. At The Lord Jesus Christ’s command leave and do not return. By the authority of and in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ; The Lord rebuke you, bind you with the chains of heaven, and cast you into dry places. You have no authority here, leave and do not return. Thank you Lord for what you have done. All Praise and Honor be to you our God. Please Lord fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit to the point of overflowing. All to Your Glory. Amen.”
Note: Yes we have the Lord Jesus Christ’ authority to cast out demons. He clearly gave that authority to those who are His. However, if the Archangel Michael one of the Heavenly Hosts held in a high position was unwilling to rail an accusation against Satan having the position and authority The Father has given him; why would you or I think or even assume that we are any different. It is the Lord’s power, the power of God that rebukes, binds and casts away that which is not of Him. Yes, we have His authority, the power of God within us, but we must also understand; this is the power and authority of the Creator of all things, He Who Sits Upon the Throne. It is to Him that all the Honor, Glory, Power and Dominion is given. Not you, I or any created being; we claim none of it. It is His Glory and His Power and His alone.
Regardless of what you think you hear from God, the Holy Spirit will never contradict the Word of God. NEVER! If you have heard something you are not sure of, test the spirit and believe it to be from the Lord, but it does not seem to totally align with the Word of God. Then simply stop and ask the Lord to confirm that which He has shown you in a way that you will absolutely know that it is from Him. This may take time; sometimes years, but do not strike out on your own, until you are absolutely sure you have confirmation, you know it is His Word and it is His will for you. If you trust Him, you will soon discover His timing is always perfect.
Our God is an Awesome God and He will use you to whatever extent you are willing to surrender to Him and Honor Him in all you do. This is His Promise and His promises are True. He is a loving and wonderful Father that wants only the best for you. We must walk in His strength and His power if we choose to go down this pathway. But know and fully understand this pathway is very narrow. Very narrow; there is no left or right. It is His will for every step we take, not our own, but His. If you choose this pathway, without doubt know that this pathway is only as wide as the Sword of His Word, turned on edge. That is right; you are walking on the edge of the sword. We cannot even begin to do this on our own.
He may put someone in your path to help you. But know, it is He and He alone that you follow. He will never lead you where He cannot keep you. He and He alone is Abba Father.
Please know He Loves you; you are His precious son or daughter.
All Glory Honor and Praise unto our Lord and King.

NOTE: I share this with writing with you because the Father over the last 20 plus years has had other saints plant these seeds in my heart and water the garden. Thank You PW. He was the one who changed, and continues to change my heart from the hardest stone to fertile soil. He and He alone gives Heavenly Understanding. Just know that this is a process we all must go through if we chose to stand up as Isaiah did in chapter 6 and say “Here I am, Lord send me.” (This is one of the verses He used to call me into ministry many years ago.) My deepest love, acknowledgement and appreciation goes out to each person the Lord has put in my path. I have been very stubborn and many needless tears were shed, but He is our faithful Father showing love and discipline where needed and He never gave up on me, All to His Glory. Thank you Abba Father, you are an awesome God. All to His Glory, His Praise, His Honor.
