Listen To Him

Transcript from the Radio Series : Who Do You Choose To Serve?

“This Is My Beloved Son Listen To Him”
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1:1–6 (NASB95)
Colossians 1:15–19 (NASB95)   15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18 He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. 19 For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him,
We know and are certain that before any created thing existed The Word of God existed and the fullness of the father dwelt in Him.
Who is the Word? All of scripture clearly reveal this but through the apostle John Chapter 1 we hear
14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Before anything else was even created; He existed. The Word of God existed. The Lord Jesus Christ.  We know this because the scripture tells us so and we know this information did not come from man. He, The Word of God, tells us this in
Peter 1:20–21 (NASB95) 20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, 21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
The Word of God existed before the creation of the universe and everything in it,  as well as before the foundations of the earth were established. The Lord Jesus Christ the Word of God was a mystery that has been hidden; But the Word, both as God and the written word with every jot and tittle had already be composed and written.  Paul wrote under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit in Colossians
so that I might fully carry out the preaching of the word of God, 26 that is, the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His saints …” [please go and read the entire book]
Confirmation also came from  Daniel 2:19–23 (The Living Bible
Then Daniel praised the God of heaven, 20 saying, “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for he alone has all wisdom and all power. 21 World events are under his control. He removes kings and sets others on their thrones. He gives wise men their wisdom and scholars their intelligence. 22 He reveals profound mysteries beyond man’s understanding. He knows all hidden things, for he is light, and darkness is no obstacle to him.
The Lord Jesus Christ, The Word of God did not say or do anything that He did not hear the Father speak or see The Father do. John 5 and John 12 confirm this.
And not only do we have His Word, The Word, The Father Himself intervened and spoke directly to witnesses for all to hear. Three distinct times:
  • At His baptism
  • On the mount of transfiguration
  • At His Triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
In Mark 9:7 we read
Then a cloud formed, overshadowing them, and a voice came out of the cloud, This is My beloved Son, listen to Him!”
Hear Peter’s eyewitness as well:
2 Peter 1:16–18 (NASB95)  16 For we did not follow cleverly devised tales when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty. 17 For when He received honor and glory from God the Father, such an utterance as this was made to Him by the Majestic Glory, “This is My beloved Son with whom I am well-pleased”— 18 and we ourselves heard this utterance made from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.
The words; He The Word spoke, and the actions of His life and death was the complete fulfillment of all that had been written.
Luke 24:44 (AV) 44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.  Note also: Mark 14: 35-36
No one understood this at the time. The prophets who were inspired by the Holy Spirit to write did not understand. Neither did the religious leaders did not understand. The Scribes and the Pharisees of the Lord Jesus’ time did not understand, the people did not understand. Even the disciples, whom He taught did not even understand while He walked this earth. Why? Because it was a mystery, by the Fathers design and will that could not be understooduntil His work was finished and then only by and through the Holy Spirit of the Living God.
Listen to Isaiah telling all beforehand: chapter 6:8–10 (The Living Bible)
9 And he said, “Yes, go. But tell my people this: ‘Though you hear my words repeatedly, you won’t understand them. Though you watch and watch as I perform my miracles, still you won’t know what they mean.10 Dull their understanding, close their ears, and shut their eyes. I don’t want them to see or to hear or to understand, or to turn to me to heal them.”
It was not until He walked this earth and began to show the fulfillment of the Word that anyone could understand. He began with His disciples.
Matthew 13:10-11 (NASB95) 10 And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?” 11 Jesus answered them, “To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted.
Mark 4:11–12 (NASB95) 11 And He was saying to them, “To you has been given the mystery of the kingdom of God, but those who are outside get everything in parables, 12 so that while seeing, they may see and not perceive, and while hearing, they may hear and not understand, otherwise they might return and be forgiven.”
Matthew 13: and Luke 8: confirm this as well.
The Holy Spirit inspired Paul as well.
Colossians 1:25–26 (NASB95) 25 Of this church I was made a minister according to the stewardship from God bestowed on me for your benefit, so that I might fully carry out the preaching of the word of God, 26 that is, the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His saints,
And then again in
Romans 16:25–27 (NASB95) 25 Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past, 26 but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations,
Even today, when we read what was written by The Prophets and the Psalms our eyes and ears are veiled if we do not have the help of the Holy Spirit and then use His Word and His teachings as the starting point. Yes, just as spoken by Isaiah, we cannot hear, we cannot see and we do not understand. Why? Because our hearts and eyes are still veiled.
Hebrews 10:19–22 (NASB95) 19 Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
2 Corinthians 3:7–18 (NASB95) 12 Therefore having such a hope, we use great boldness in our speech, 13 and are not like Moses, who used to put a veil over his face so that the sons of Israel would not look intently at the end of what was fading away. 14 But their minds were hardened; for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains unlifted, because it is removed in Christ. 15 But to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their heart; 16 but whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.
The mysteries of the universe was and is today revealed to those with eyes to see and ears to hear;  Who has eyes to see and ears to hear? Those who are born of the water and the spirit; those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. The water is the living water of the word revealed to the woman at the well, and the spirit is the Holy Spirit of the Living God, with us and in us who are His.
This mystery of the universe was not understood by any until the time The Father revealed it to the universe. All of creation, the cloud of witnesses, looked on as the Son brought a complete and final end to sin at the cross. It was His obedience to the Father and His Blood given as an acceptable sacrifice for all sin that allows the scroll to be open, read and understood for whosoever is willing.   Go and read Revelation Chapter 5: – All means all. No one was found worthy to open scroll or have understanding, not in heaven or on earth, Not One!
However once the price was paid,  the Lord Jesus Christ was able to open our minds so that those with ears to hear and eyes to see could be given heavenly wisdom and heavenly understanding from the Father By and Through the Holy Spirit of the Living God.  For those who are willing to humble themselves, show reverence and obedience. For those who are born again;
In order to understand the Law and the Prophets we must start with Lord Jesus Christ own Words and teachings while He walked this earth. This is why the Father said; This is my beloved Son LISTEN TO HIM.”    It is only by His Words and actions along with our teacher the Holy Spirit that we can gain heavenly understanding.
A veil remains over our eyes and ears if we do not understand that He, The Son Of God, the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us is the full and complete fulfillment of all that was written. When we try to understand what was written by the Prophets under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit we must start with His Words and His Teachings. If not; then the veil remains and the mystery of the universe remains just that a mystery and we will follow cleverly disguised tales and teach try to teach them as truth. We will call them doctrines, and church fathers teachings just as the religious leaders of His time did. But what did the Father say:
This is my beloved Son LISTEN TO HIM.”
If we continue our in own wisdom and understanding then; it is as if one is reading a book, and there are words used of which we don’t know the meaning.  So in our wisdom an attempt is made to deduce their meaning and assume we understand what was written.  The simple misunderstanding of just a few key words can completely change the entire outcome.
Our forefathers and the prophets longed to see that they may understand what they had been given. But the veil remained in place, as it was not the Fathers timing.
So many today make the same choice. We take positions based upon our own human wisdom and understanding or the teachings of others who refuse to remove the veil. Who refuse to start at “In the beginning was the Word – and the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us”. It was not until He, The Lord Jesus Christ completed all the Father gave Him to do, that anyone in the universe could understand that He was the Lamb that must be slain and that it all had been written. Don’t you see it is only by His own Words that we can even begin to understand the rest of scripture? What did the Father Say? This is my beloved Son LISTEN TO HIM.”
They enemy delights in this, he brings about confusion and factions, arguments and disputes. But if your heart is willing and your ears are open then you have before the keys to unlock this mystery. Yes a full dictionary and encyclopedia that gives heavenly understanding to those with ears to hear and eyes to see.
What did the Father Say This is my beloved Son LISTEN TO HIM.”
  • The Father draws those who are willing to listen to the Son. John 6:
  • The seed of the Word is planted in their heart. 1 Corinthians 3:
  • The soil of their heart is a direct result of their humility, fear and obedience. Matthew 13: Psalm 25:
  • The living water brings life to the soil. John 4:
  • The Father causes the growth. 1 Corinthians 3:
Are you willing to allow the god of this world to distract you? Or are you simply willing to go to the source. THE WORD OF GOD.
