The god of This World is the Father of LiesTranscript from the Radio Series : Who Do You Choose To Serve?
Praise and Glory be unto our Lord God and King!
Who do you choose to serve? Is it the god of this World, of the Creator of the Universe?
The god of this world is the father of lies. Let’s listen to the reply the Lord Jesus Christ told the religious leaders that confronted Him:
John 8:39–47 (NASB95) 41 “You are doing the deeds of your father.” They said to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father: God.” 42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and have come from God, for I have not even come on My own initiative, but He sent Me. 43 “Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot hear My word. 44 “You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 “But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me. This is from John chapter 8: Please go and read this entire chapter and the Book in context.
We must each ask ourselves, Do we choose to serve lies or do we choose to serve the Truth? Truth himself, The Lord Jesus Christ declares “ I am the way, the truth and the life, no one come unto the Father but through Me.” John 14:6
He came to this earth, born to a virgin by and through the power of the Holy Spirit to bring salvation to all who believe.
He came to this earth and to proclaim the Kingdom of God to all who have an ear to hear.
He came to this earth to be the perfect sacrifice for our sin, washing our robes clean with His Holy Blood, taking away the sin of the world.
John 3:16–21 (NASB95) 16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17 “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. 18 “He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 “This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. 20 “For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 “But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.”
And He fulfilled all that was written about Him in the scriptures:
Luke 4:14–21 (NASB95) 14 And Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about Him spread through all the surrounding district. 15 And He began teaching in their synagogues and was praised by all. 16 And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read. 17 And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written, 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are oppressed, 19 To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.” 20 And He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him. 21 And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”
And then His direct Words to the disciples after He had risen from the dead.
Luke 24:44–48 (The Living Bible) 44 Then he said, “When I was with you before, don’t you remember my telling you that everything written about me by Moses and the prophets and in the Psalms must all come true?” 45 Then he opened their minds to understand at last these many Scriptures! 46 And he said, “Yes, it was written long ago that the Messiah must suffer and die and rise again from the dead on the third day; 47 and that this message of salvation should be taken from Jerusalem to all the nations: There is forgiveness of sins for all who turn to me. 48 You have seen these prophecies come true.
His message is so simple:
“Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17
“I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.” Luke 5:32
“and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. Luke 24:46–47
We are all sinners; regardless of what our laws or courts say. We know the difference between good and evil, the Lord has put this in our hearts. Yet so many of us simply choose to ignore even our own conscious, even though we know what to do, even though the light of the world is right before us, but we stubbornly choose the darkness. The Light of the World exposes our sin, and most of us do not want our sin exposed. If we continue in our sin, we have no promise or hope of eternal life. The Lord Jesus Christ brought salvation into this world for all who believe in Him. He did so as the Father planned by willingly giving up His life for all. The Father demands a sacrifice for sin, the debt must be paid; and the only sacrifice acceptable is the blood of the sinless Lamb of the World, The Lord Jesus Christ.
His blood on the cross at Calvary was payment in full for the entire sin of the world, for whosoever believes in Him. To believe in Him, you must acknowledge Him as Lord and Savior, The Messiah and then repent turn from you sins to believe in Him.
Repent means you are truly sorry for what you have done, not that you are simply sorry that you have been caught or found out, but truly from your heart admit you have sinned against God, the Creator of All Things and that you are willing to make a course change in your life, you are willing to turn away from sin and not continue in or practice sin.
Our God is abundant in grace, mercy and lovingkindness and loves us so much that He is willing to forgive our transgressions, if we are willing to come to Him and confess our sins. Confess our sins and turn from them. His blood is the atoning sacrifice acceptable to the Father. By His Blood we can then boldly come before Him.
Don’t you see, He is our loving Father; He Loves us and wants nothing but what is best for us, and is willing to give us every good thing? He will shower us with His blessings, eternal blessings, yes the Father knows what we need in this world and provides, but the abundant things we all want to be showered with are eternal blessings and eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven.
For our God is not of this world. This is not His Kingdom. He tells us this clearly in His Word. Go and read His direct conversation with Pilate. Read His prayer to the Father on our behalf in the Book of John. The ruler of this world and this earthly kingdom is the Father of Lies, Satan himself. Yes we are in this world, but we, those who are born again are not of this world. The king of this world has been defeated. The king of this world knows that His time is short and he was defeated at the cross. He was cast out of heaven and now is only in this world. His mission is to kill and destroy.
But for those of us who are born again, for those of us who have had our robes washed in the blood of the lamb. For those of us who have been born of the Spirit of the Living God. For those of us who do not continue to practice sin, those who have repented and turned away from their sin. For those who are overcomers, these are who He calls to be sons and daughters, Sons and daughters of the Most High God. These are the ones that have their names written in the Lambs Book of Life. These are those for whom He has went and prepared a place for in His Eternal Kingdom.
Our choice is very simple, and it has not changed. Moses speaking by the power of the Holy Spirit of God laid it out clearly, as does The Lord Jesus Christ and all of scripture. Our choice is life and life abundant or death and eternal separation from God. We each individually must choose. And we do so not only by our words but by and in our actions as well, one does not come without the other.
Please do not fool yourself or let anyone mislead you. No one can just listen to the Word and then not obey. Those who are overcomers are those who hear the Word and then put it to practice in their own lives. Yes, there is forgiveness when we make a mistake, but understand God judges the motives and intentions of the heart as well as our words and actions. Take the time to go and read 1 Samuel 16:.
Make no mistake about it God will not be mocked. If someone who claims to be a born again Christian continues to live in and practice sin and by their own choice will not repent and turn from evil, at some point that door closes and cannot be opened again. Please, don’t take my word for it go and read it yourself. Start with
Hebrews 10:26–27 (The Living Bible) 26 If anyone sins deliberately by rejecting the Savior after knowing the truth of forgiveness, this sin is not covered by Christ’s death; there is no way to get rid of it. 27 There will be nothing to look forward to but the terrible punishment of God’s awful anger, which will consume all his enemies.
Please take the time to read the entire chapter, then the entire book.
Now go the Romans and read for yourself:
Romans 2:11-16 (NIV) 11 For God treats everyone the same. 12 He will punish sin wherever it is found. He will punish the heathen when they sin, even though they never had God’s written laws, for down in their hearts they know right from wrong. God’s laws are written within them; their own conscience accuses them, or sometimes excuses them. And God will punish the Jews for sinning because they have his written laws but don’t obey them. They know what is right but don’t do it. After all, salvation is not given to those who know what to do, unless they do it. 16 The day will surely come when at God’s command Jesus Christ will judge the secret lives of everyone, their inmost thoughts and motives; this is all part of God’s great plan, which I proclaim.
Jude, speaking by the Holy Spirit gave us another clear warning as well telling us clearly that we do not have a license to sin .
Jude 3–4 (NIV) 3 Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people. 4 For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only sovereign and Lord. Go and read the entire book of Jude for yourself; it is only 25 verses.
Please, if you have not done so already, pick up your Bible and read. Read all quotations in context, reading the entire chapter or book as directed by the Holy Spirit. Then go the Book of Revelation and read chapter 21 and 22: Read His wonderful promise of the eternal life with Him in the New Heavens and the New Earth. But pay very careful attention and listen to His own words telling us who the “New Heavens and the New Earth” has already been created for.
It is to those who have overcome.
It is for those who names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
It is for those in whom no evil is found, whose robes have been washed by the Blood of the Lamb,
Whose spirit has been reborn.
Those left outside are those who choose to practice sin ignoring the clear warnings and teachings of The Lord Jesus Christ; and by their actions they serve the god of this world.
Who do you choose to serve?
All to His Glory!
